Community Health Assesment
As health administrators, you will be responsible for ensuring quality care for entire communities at a time. This and other similar courses are meant to introduce students to the concepts associated with community health, and the tools used in the profession for assessing these systems, identifying areas for improvement, and enacting effective changes.
Leaders within the healthcare system must understand the marketing challenges associated with health services. Students are taught the fundamentals of marketing, and investigate the role of marketing within the management of healthcare organizations. Ideally, students of this course obtain a strong foundation of tools and techniques in order to understand and develop marketing plans.
Ethics is an incredibly important part of any healthcare organization: understanding the complicated issues which patients, doctors, and other staff face on a daily basis is essential to organizing systems in ways that ensure ethical care. Students of this and similar courses will learn the theory and precedent regarding ethics in the health industry.

Online (and Onsite) MHA Programs in Indiana
Below, we have detailed two examples of MHA programs in Indiana: these are indicative of such programs as a whole. However, if you are interested in more options, you might wish to consider some of the other institutional options, listed at the bottom of this article.
University of Southern Indiana
USI is a public university located outside Evansville, and one of the largest in the state. Through their College of Nursing and Health Professions, they offer a 39-credit program which can be completed almost entirely online, thus allowing students to balance their professional life with a flexible academic schedule.
Students must have completed their GRE, and have maintained a GPA of 3.0: ideal students will also have at least two years of work experience in the healthcare industry.
With a strong emphasis on the development of critical thinking and leadership skills, this program utilizes a cohort system which pairs students in small groups with whom they will complete a majority of the degree.
The majority of the coursework is completed online, with the exception of three intensive meetings which are
similar to conferences in format and scope. These two-day sessions generally occur in January, May, and August.
The Base Tuition For Indiana Resident Graduate Students is $385 Per Credit Hour
Out-of-state students are charged a higher fee of $754 per hour. Additional fees for the College of Nursing and online coursework apply.
Students are encouraged to inquire for potential financial aid packages, and students who live on or near the campus can apply for graduate assistants in order to offset the cost of their education.

The program offers start dates throughout the year, so as to help potential students get on their way to the degree as soon as possible. Each student will take a total of 52 credit hours split up over roughly a dozen classes, in six and ten-week course formats.
A high focus is placed on helping students to solidify their understanding of the ethical, administrative, and professional skills necessary for success in the health industry. Online students can expect a base tuition of $485 per credit hour. This does not include other university and program fees.
